Trump sued over ‘1-in-2-out’ regulations order

While the order was only in effect for a few days, stories of stranded travelers, loved ones unable to return home and Americans feeling betrayed by the country they moved to poured into media and onto social media alike.

The groups that filed the lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia are Public Citizen, a progressive consumer rights advocacy group; the Natural Resources Defense Council, a nonprofit worldwide environmental advocacy group; and the Communications Workers of America, the nation’s largest communications and media labor union.

However, while police deaths did rise in 2016, as my colleague Alexi McCammond notes, officer deaths have actually decreased overall during the past decade.

In practice, the Trump administration can do little to boost the power of police officers; policing is still primarily a state and local issue.

The others, according to Trump, create a task force on reducing violent crime and instruct Sessions to implement a plan to stop crime against law enforcement officers.

He says the executive order puts industry’s concerns about the cost of complying with regulations ahead of the public’s concerns about the cost of the problem that the regulation is trying to solve.

“The opinion of this so-called judge, which essentially takes law enforcement away from our country, is ridiculous and will be overturned!” the president tweeted on Saturday, February 4.

Trump has distorted and exaggerated the murder rate in the United States.

“We’re a victim of our own success”. “But if you look at the big rules, the benefits are 10 times or more greater than the cost”.

In 2015, there were 372.6 cases of violent crime reported per 100,000 people, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
