Trump Taking Media Suggestions on Where to Donate Presidential Salary
Trump slammed the validity of jobs reports on the trail and after being elected as “phony” and “totally fiction”.
“It’s a free country and the beauty of it is that [people] can act how they want”, said Spicer, who also added that 99 percent of his interactions with the public are civil.
Similar questions remain over the president’s pledge to “donate all profits from foreign governments’ patronage of his hotels and similar businesses” to the Treasury Department. Peter Alexander of NBC News asked Spicer at the daily press briefing.
White House counselor Kellyanne Conway also addressed the wiretapping claims in an interview Sunday with the Bergen County Record, suggesting that other covert surveillance methods used by the Central Intelligence Agency – as revealed by Wikileaks last week – could have been used in Trump Tower by the Obama administration. The president hasn’t provided any evidence to support his claims.
“He doesn’t really think that”.
“He suggested that”, Alexander shot back. It is interesting how many news outlets reported that this activity was taking place during the 2016 election cycle and now are wondering where the proof is.
“President Obama was tapping my phones”, Trump wrote in the wee hours of March 4. “This is a standard action that takes place in most administrations”.
Neither Apple nor Spicer and the White House responded to a request for comment.
“Yes!” Spicer cut in and exclaimed.
“And we’ve seen what happened”, she said.
“But you just said it’s real?”
“Don’t tell me what he probably meant because he also works for this administration that has done all of these things”, she told the publication. It’s hard to imagine what to say when someone runs up at you in public and starts shouting endless questions at you. Going back to the CBO, Spicer said “that’s not a question of our credibility, it’s a question of theirs”.
He then wrapped up the briefing nearly immediately before more questions could be asked.
“Should they trust the president?”
“That would be a great way to do it”, Spicer replied. “We know this is a fact of modern life”.
It has been claimed that Mr Spicer’s remark – “it’s such a great country that allows you to be here” – may have meant it’s great that Americans can approach presidential aides even while they are out shopping.
Trump promised during his campaign that he would not take a salary if elected president.
“He does believe it!”
