Trump unveils plan to rebuild US military
Clinton fares better than Trump among white and Hispanic voters than Obama did in 2008, the past year a presidential exit poll was conducted in the state.
The images of U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump are seen painted on decorative pumpkins.
A Public Policy Polling survey found 44 percent of likely Florida voters said they would back Trump; while 43 percent would support Clinton.
In a four-way contest, 10 per cent chose Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson and four per cent Green Party candidate Jill Stein, while the rest remained unsure, Pew found.
Another 22.9 percent haven’t decided yet. While she’s articulated an anti-Islamic State plan that is more aggressive than Obama’s, she’s largely in line with the president on foreign policy.
“I’m asking to be judged on the totality of my record”, said Mrs Clinton, who grew visibly irritated at times with the repeated focus on her past actions. Clinton now has an advantage in states with enough electoral votes to put her over the top in November. The survey includes results among 886 registered voters and 786 likely voters. The “commander in chief” national security forum, hosted by NBC, will serve as something of a preview for voters of the candidates’ highly anticipated trio of debates later this fall. Before that, it was President Harry Truman in 1948. “We’ll see what happens”.
The numbers among different subgroups have larger margins of error than those in the overall poll.
Trump stood by a previous comment that appeared to blame military sexual assaults on men and women serving together, but added he would not seek to remove women from the military.
Trump’s anti-illegal-immigration posture, which has included vows to deport millions, has alienated many Hispanics.
The Florida and North Carolina results have a margin of error of plus or minus 3.6 percentage points, while the OH and Pennsylvania results have a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
Hillary Clinton gave her first formal press conference in more than nine months on Thursday and, all things considered, it was a non-event.
In August one-on-one match-ups Clinton was ahead by 1-point in Florida (within the margin of error), 4 points in OH and 10 points in Pennsylvania.
“I do believe that Donald Trump is growing in his understanding of these issues and I think that he’s beginning to get more and more people around him that have a depth of understanding as to the complexities and I’m watching this evolve”, he said. Vox reporter Matthew Yglesias wrote, referring to Trump’s assertions Wednesday – and on multiple occasions during his campaign – that he opposed the United States invading Iraq in March 2003. Johnson claimed only about 4% in the poll, though the most recent CNN/ORC national poll has his support pegged at 7%. Stein is at 3 percent nationally. “Usually, I’ve pretty much made up my mind by this point, and I haven’t”.
That suggests that Mrs. Clinton is hurt more than Mr. Trump by the presence of minor party candidates on the OH ballot.
