Expressing concern that 123 districts in the country were still not connected with national highways even 60 years after Independence, he said that the central government had now made a decision to connect these districts with national highways under “Bharat Mala Scheme” for better road connectivity.
Elaborating about projects launched by Road, Transport and Highways Ministry, the PM said under Sethu Bharatam, 375 bridges are needed for connectivity because the project aimed at providing vital connectivity through bridges.
