Tuesday weather: Look for high 80s
The overnight low should drop down to about 56 degrees.
A strong cold front will deliver cooler temperatures, especially at night, and drier conditions beginning Wednesday night (Sept. 30) and lasting through the weekend, say forecasters with the Slidell office of the National Weather Service.
Monday’s high in Madison was 78, 11 degrees above normal and 11 degrees below the record high of 89 for September 28, set in 1971. The lows are normally between 64 and 66 degrees.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms are likely on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

For the rest of the week, the highs will range from the low to high 80s.
And at least the temperatures remain warm, unlike 1942.
Precipitation in New York City’s water supply system, which includes several reservoirs in Westchester County, has been below historical average over the past three months, according to the New York City Department of Environmental Protection.
“That really helped the system fill up”, Bosch said.
Relief is on the way, however, as the weather service said “a cool down is in the horizon”.
In Little Rock, highs in the upper 70s are expected Friday and Saturday with lows in the upper 50s.
“I think both those days you’ve got to keep the umbrella handy”, Kines said.
