Turing Pharma CEO Martin Shkreli Arrested For Securities Fraud
The move comes after a Bloomberg news story that it’s CEO Martin Shkreli was arrested in a a securities fraud investigation. Prosecutors reportedly allege that he illegally took stock from Retrophin Inc. and used it to pay off other, unrelated dealings.
The allegations stem from his time as manager of hedge fund MSMB Capital Management and chief executive of biopharmaceutical company Retrophin.
Shkreli was arrested early Thursday. Greebel and his firm weren’t immediately available to comment either.
Shkreli gained notoriety in September when his startup company bought the right to a life-saving drug and then hiked the price of it by 5,000%. Daraprim is one of numerous old drugs with limited competition whose makers have raised prices sharply.
Over the course of his latest interview, Shkreli tried to start a beef with the RZA and get Taylor Swift to come suck his d*ck in exchange for a private Shaolin listening party. But they plunged 50% in premarket trading Thursday after reports of his arrest.
His name entered public consciousness after he raised the price more than 55-fold for Daraprim. The price increase, and Shkreli’s unrepentant attitude about it, led to nationwide outrage, and shone a light on pharmaceutical companies’ practices of dramatically increasing the prices of cheaper generic drugs. Like Shkreli, Bronson is Albanian, and according to Shkreli, that means he’s pretty much allowed to try to kill you.
It is the preferred treatment for a parasitic condition known as toxoplasmosis, which can be deadly for unborn babies and patients with compromised immune systems including those with HIV or cancer. Bernie Sanders rejected a donation from America’s most unpopular businessman. “At least have the decency to say nothing or ‘no comment'”. Either way, Martin Shkreli also said he’s not as different from Bobby Shmurda as you might think.
Apparently, Shkreli isn’t satisfied with Kobe or Wagyu, and is looking to buy himself an even more expensive variety of beef, the kind you settle in the streets. Nope, he said he’d definitely “owe him one”, going on to say “I’m a big fan but also I’m an opportunist”.
