Turok Remaster Comes To PC This Week
According to Eurogamer, the remaster will feature support for high resolutions and widescreen, improved gameplay and level design, support for v-sync, enhanced effects for elements such as lighting and water, ability to freely rebind all keys, and the addition of Steam achievements.
The original Turok: Dinosaur Hunter released in March 1997 for the Nintendo 64, later coming to PC in the same year. The game’s default controls mapped movement to the Nintendo 64 controller’s face buttons while players aimed with an analog stick.
Originally developed by Iguana Entertainment and published by Acclaim, the remaster is being tackled by Night Dive Studios, which has made its name with re-releases of classic games like Strife: Veteran Edition and System Shock: Enhanced Edition.
Two sequels, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil and Turok: Evolution followed in 1999 and 2002, but failed to leave the same impact as the original. Would you like a proper next generation reboot for Turok, or do you think the franchise should have ended when it did.
Night Dive Studios is also responsible for the modern re-releases of System Shock 2, Shadowman and Starlord. The game comes out on December 17 and contains all the dinosaur hunting action and weapons form the original.
