TWD Season 6: 90-Minute Premiere, Talking Dead Special & More
Of course, we’ll have some other updates on “Fear the Walking Dead” soon enough.
“The Walking Dead” season 6 trailer was shown at last Friday’s Comic-Con.
If you haven’t guessed already, be prepared for major spoilers up until Season 5. Among the current series that ranked in the top 10 based on DAR-TV*, “The Walking Dead” commanded almost 53% of the Share of Voice on Facebook throughout the weekend, more than doubling the next highest show.
A companion series to “The Walking Dead“, the #1 show on USA television among adults 18-49, “Fear the Walking Dead” is set to premiere on Sunday, August 23 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. As announced at Comic-Con, the series’ season one finale will be followed by a special episode of “Talking Dead”, during which host Chris Hardwick will recap and discuss all six episodes with special guests and viewers comments and questions. While the new show is not connected to “The Walking Dead“, they do live in the same universe. “So the nice thing for us was that [Fear] was structured in such a way that there is still a whole season-long process of discovery to be had”. It starts as a family drama and we filter the apocalypse through that. There’s the ability to watch the fall…. Color-wise, this is a pretty cool one to look at … but we do feel like something is being left to be desired when it comes to the iconic Los Angeles setting. Recent statements from Fear showrunner Dave Erickson imply that we may see Rick wake up from his coma “on camera” in the second season of the Walking Dead spin-off.
When the apocalypse happens, Ofelia’s life is tumbling and she is “grasping for straws”, Mason said, trying to figure out who she is and who she can rely on. “You know addicts, heroine addicts, they’re constantly living with life and death”.
What are your expectations?
