Twitter Reveal New Emojis for 2015/16 Premier League Season
Twitter has added its own Premier League emoji, meaning you can use richer tweets than ever to express your honest belief that Southampton will surprise everyone by dominating the new season.
The league itself even has an emoji – type in #BPLkickoff and you’ll see a tiny version of the Premier League trophy that John Terry will inevitably be lifting at the end of the season.
Starting today, emojis will show up when any user Tweets using specific dedicated hashtags during the opening weekend.
Like we have come to expect the Premier League also has a hashtag for each match. Remember that these are non-standard emoji, though, so they’ll only work on Twitter. An emoji of the club’s crest will appear next to the hashtag. For example, a match between Everton and Liverpool may have the hashtag #EVELFC.
The new emojis will encourage fans to support their clubs on Twitter, with Arsenal leading the way as the most supported club on the social media platform.
