Twitter’s 140-Character Limit Might Extend On Upcoming Social Media Product!
Social media giant Twitter Inc. was reportedly considering the possibility of allowing users to tweet above 140 characters at a time – a move that had been highly debated about the company’s growth. Its 140-character limit was a result of a 160-character limit for text messages, and left space for a username. Currently, the company has been trying to find out new ways to expand its user base.
Twitter declined comment on the reports. This unique feature of Twitter started a few innovative ways on how people express themselves through social media.
One of the major challenges of Twitter is, deciding on how much more they could stretch the limit and how that longer tweets should look, as this could change the so-called, Twitter experience.
Apparently, Dorsey is supportive of this possible change, simply implying that he is doing his best in his position while Twitter is now searching for its permanent CEO. Once Twitter attracts more engaged users, the platform will benefit from brands wanting to advertise.
CEO Dorsey wants to reach a more mainstream audience. The only question for the company is whether or not a long-form option would actually increase its user count. Users are too eager to come up with a solution to the character limit by posting images of longer text or making “tweetstorm”, links to their longer tweets.
Amid reports that Twitter is about to remove the “interim” from interim CEO Jack Dorsey’s title, the company is also said to be considering ways for users to work around its 140-character limit.
