Twitter Testing A Polling Feature In Tweets
In case the micro-blogging firm decides to roll out the feature to all Twitter users then it is bound to result in a “poll mania” since everyone will post a poll making it irritating for some of the users. Noto had a simple question for his followers Thursday: “Boxers of briefs?” Alongside each under-garment option was a check box for users to select. (Some people initially thought Noto’s tweet was a mistake, given his history of mistakenly tweeting direct messages). And while we only had a few leaks from here and there on the same, Twitter, in a statement sent to VentureBeat, has now confirmed that it is indeed experimenting with such a thing.
Do you think Twitter should introduce the polling feature to all?
The polling tool aligns Twitter with Facebook and Google, who already provide the tool for users.
The polling feature does not now appear to be broadly available.
Though Fred Wilson, one of Twitter’s early backers, tweeted that he was easily able to create a poll.
Twitter is now testing a new feature for tweets which will help users embed a poll, not relying on Cards.
Right now, it looks like polls are only visible on Twitter’s mobile apps and website, not on desktop applications like TweetDeck.
Twitter has tried adding polls to its communications services in the past as well. As users participate in a growing number of polls, Twitter could learn everything about their choice of underwear to their favorite sports teams.
