Twitterati react to Randy Orton, John Cena’s wins at Royal Rumble 2017
In what was arguably the best match of the night, the two Smackdown Live superstars delivered a masterclass in wrestling.
With that being the case, let’s not waste anymore time and get right down to the predictions.
Aside from the traditional Royal Rumble match, the WWE Championship and WWE Universal Championship will be defended! Randy Orton entered at no 23 while Brock Lesnar, Goldberg and Undertaker entered at 26, 28 and 29 respectively, Goldberg qas quick in eliminating Brock Lesnar. The last man standing will be named the victor and be granted a championship match at this year’s WrestleMania. So, this could lead to The Undertaker and Reigns squaring-off at Wrestlemania. For anyone out of the loop, NXT is Triple H’s baby and the storyline evolved from Rollins tracking him down to the one place he knew he was going to be. Orton defeated Roman Reigns and registered his careers’ 2nd Royal Rumble victory as reported IWNerd.
The Raw after WrestleMania 32, on April 4 a year ago, drew 4.094 million viewers, and this is the largest viewership WWE has had since then.
I think this would be a good time to break that pattern and create a new star in the process, and since Joe has not been officially assigned to either brand he could be a free agent that gets to choose which title he challenges for. John Cena then hit another AA and followed it up with one more to pin AJ Styles and become a record-tying 16 time WWE champion. Nothing has been confirmed or even rumored for John Cena at this time. Both John Cena and Roman Reigns are fighting for world titles, though it wouldn’t be shocking to see either AJ Styles or Kevin Owens retain the belts in those matches. Personally, I’d love to see Kingston, propelling The New Day to the top of the card, where they are capable to handle after their two-year year at the top of the tag-team division. So, if these speculations are anything to go by, then Undertaker vs Reigns could be the former’s send-off match. Unless they can book the match in such a way it is an all out brawl, with neither man getting a win but neither man looking weak.
Do YOU want to write for GiveMeSport? This is why this feud isn’t going to benefit either of them, one will ultimately end up looking weak and how will that help either man leading to Wrestlemania?
Roman Reigns should turn heel in the final match at WresteMania and defeat The Undertaker. Still, there remains something mysterious to me about the odd regularity of these victories, these huge upsets that have happened so regularly that nowadays, many seasoned viewers would not be hugely taken aback by another competitor going coast to coast. I thought he might punch the television.
