Two Americans among three killed in Jordan police shooting
Four other trainers – two Americans and two Jordanians – were also injured in the shooting, according to a government spokesman.

The US has a number of F16 fighter aircraft stationed in Jordan for the coalition operation and Americans trainers to strengthen Jordan’s security services.
“The training center is now internationally accredited and trains regional and worldwide law enforcement personnel from Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Pakistan, and Tunisia, and plans to train more participants from other countries in the future”, the State Department said in a 2011 report.
The training center is funded by the United States and used to train Iraqi police.
Jordan is a key American ally in the region and the country’s government has allowed the U.S. military to use its airfields as a base to launch strikes against Isis in Syria.
It took place on the 10th anniversary of al Qaeda suicide bombings that targeted three Amman luxury hotels, killing dozens of people in the worst militant attack in Jordanian history.
The same source said up to 1,000 United States operatives were present in Jordan, majority members of the naval infantry brigades specialising in anti-terrorism and urban warfare.
