Two dead in knife attack at IKEA store in Sweden
The three victims were reportedly stabbed at the Swedish furniture giant in Vasteras, just outside Stockholm in Sweden. “For now we’re focusing on our staff members and customers and are directing all questions to the police, who are investigating at the scene”. A press officer for Ikea couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
But police confirmed that two people had died in the incident.
“We’ve got a man who is badly injured and he is being operated on urgently,” Eva Linddahl, Director of Communications at Vastmanland County Council told the TT news agency, The Local reports.
A third person was seriously injured in the knike attack, while a man has been taken into custody suspected of murder.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The knifings took place in the household goods section of the Ikea store, VLT, the region’s local newspaper reported.
Vasteras is about an hour west of the capital Stockholm.
