Two girls gang-raped in New Delhi
“I request the PM to take a few time out and meet the LG and find out ways to deal with crime against women in Delhi”, he said. The two-year-old girl had been playing outside of her house during a 10-minute power outage in the neighbourhood, and was found in a park by family members three hours later, unconscious and bleeding.
The victim is in a stable condition in the hospital and is expected to be discharged on Monday, they said.

Delhi’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, has fiercely condemned the attacks, accusing India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi of failing to protect young girls in the city. Around 1.30 AM, the girl was spotted – bleeding profusely and crying – at a park, less than half-a-kilometre away from her residence, said police.
“Some of the locals then barged into the house and caught them (the alleged perpetrators) before handing them over to us”, the officer said.
She said there is a need for coordinated administration to tackle crime against women in the city.

A girl just two-and-a-half-years-old was abducted from a sacred religious event by two men on a motorcycle late on Friday night and raped.
The chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women Swati Maliwal, who visited the victims in hospitals, termed the incidents as “disgusting” and “shameful”. The Delhi CM had accused the police of being a complete failure in providing security to women. He said, “Police does not come under Delhi Govt, Modi ji has kept the Police with him and doesn’t do anything”.
The remarks came after a toddler and a five-year-old child were raped in two separate incidents here. “The only task left with the LG and Delhi police is to interfere in our work. These men live in crammed spaces with no social or parental control and usually no fear of law”, she said.
In December 2012, a 23-year-old female student, who boarded a private bus in Delhi, was raped and brutally assaulted by six men in the moving bus. Delhi alone had more than 2,000 rapes reported in 2014. The true scale of the problem is likely to be far worse.
