Two Israelis shot dead in West Bank
The director of Hebron’s al-Ahly hospital, Jehad Shawar, condemned the Israelis for breaching all worldwide laws by invading the safe space.
“They held the staff at gunpoint and stormed the room of Shalalda”, Shawar said. The cousin was instantly shot. The crime even became uglier when they surprised a companion of the patient and shot him with five bullets and executed him in the hospital. It also did not give the identity or condition of the man who was shot.
After the soldiers left with Azzam, “I went into the room and saw two people: one, who was Azzam’s brother, was chained to the bed and was screaming”. Then the Palestinian entered the other store and stabbed a woman.
Minutes later they are seen making their way back with the suspect, 20-year-old Azzam Shalaldeh, in the wheelchair.
The Palestinian health ministry said 21 agents participated in the raid targeting Azzam Shalaldeh in the surgery department of the hospital in Hebron.
Israel’s Shin Bet security agency, which participated in Thursday’s raid, said Israel will not allow wanted suspects to seek cover in “places of refuge”.
In a statement, Doctors without Borders said that “the relevant military authorities to respect the special status that [International Humanitarian Law] grants to medical facilities and the wounded and sick”.
Unlawful and deliberate killings carried out by order of government or military officials, or with their complicity or acquiescence, amount to extrajudicial executions, which are prohibited at all times and are crimes under worldwide law. He was shot in the heart by Israeli forces during a protest during the morning.
In Nablus in the northern West Bank, troops destroyed the homes of three Palestinians accused of killing an Israeli settler couple on October 1 at the start of the latest flare-up of violence, the army said. The security forces are still “combing” the area searching for the shooter.
During the conflict, more than 2,000 Palestinians were killed, the vast majority of them civilians, while 66 Israeli soldiers died.
The Israeli intelligence services apparently have a somewhat more realistic appraisal.
Israeli media reported that the attack happened near the city of Hebron and that the two were father and son.
They also include minimum jail terms for Palestinian stone-throwers, looser rules of engagement for the army and the withholding of the bodies of alleged attackers to prevent their funerals becoming political rallies. He was identified by hospital workers as a cousin of the Palestinian suspect.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu extended condolences to the family and vowed Israel would find the “despicable murderers” and judge them severely.
Meanwhile, the draconian Israeli security crackdown continues to intensify.
Israeli forces have responded with force, using live ammunition, rubber-coated steel bullets, tear gas and stun grenades against protesters. In the recording, a man’s voice can be heard saying they have a passenger wounded in the head and that an ambulance from the Palestinian Red Crescent had arrived at the scene but sped away, leaving them there.
