Two men arrested over attempted Dublin robberies
Gardai at Ballymun in Dublin are investigating a number of incidents which happened in the Glasnevin/Whitehall area of Dublin in the early hours today. He is believed to have suffered a broken arm or hand in the incident.
It came after two men attempted to gain entry to a house in Whitehall and a shop in Santry overnight.
The suspect’s vehicle was signalled to pull over, and when Gardaí set off in pursuit of the speeding 4×4 one patrol auto was rammed.
Garda units then followed the vehicle onto Glasnevin Park where it rammed a Garda Patrol auto and an officer was injured, but not seriously.
In a follow-up operation, Gardaí intercepted the same vehicle in the Ashbourne area of County Meath at approximately 6.45am.
The men, aged in their 20s, are due to appear before Cavan District Court.
