Two men charged with murder of Dwyane Wade’s cousin, Nykea Aldridge
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump tweeted on Saturday the shooting death of a cousin of National Basketball Association star Dwyane Wade affirmed his campaign comments about violence in minority communities and highlighted why black voters would support him in November.
Aldridge was fatally shot by a stray bullet Friday afternoon while pushing a stroller down a street in Chicago’s South Side.
“What happens in Chicago is way bigger than Donald Trump who is just trying to capitalize on it”.
It appears likely that the city will pass last year’s mark.
If the pace continues for the rest of the year, 2016 would mark the first time this century that Chicago’s murders have exceeded the combined number in the country’s two largest cities.
He also linked her shooting death to a wave of violence that has been sweeping the Chicago’s South Side. The shooting left one dead, the Chicago Tribune said. Another tore into her arm. Sunday night, family members of Aldridge came together to remember her at a vigil. The child, about 3 weeks old, was not injured, family members said. They were both charged with first-degree murder and first-degree attempted murder.
Trump also misspelled Wade’s first name in the tweet, which was later edited to correct the spelling.
“And I just thank God once again for allowing her to be in my life. African-Americans will VOTE TRUMP!” he said.
