Two militants, two Army personnel killed near LoC in Kashmir
Jammu and Kashmir: An Indian jawan was killed and two more were injured in an overnight firing with militants near the Line of Control (LoC). According to an army statement, the Indian troops intercepted a group of militants near the Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar area of north Kashmir on Saturday. Pakistani troops resorted to firing from automatic weapons and mortar shells on forward post in Mandi-Sabzaiyan sector in Poonch from 2330 hrs to 0430 hrs, a Defence Spokesman said.
In the ongoing gunbattle the security forces have managed to gun down two militants in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district today. Search operations are underway.
“One jawan made the supreme sacrifice while two others were injured in the operation against militants in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district”, the Army official said.
He said that the incident led to a fierce gun battle as the Pakistan Forces were trying to provide cover fire to the terrorists waiting on their side to sneak in.
