Two Palestinians gunned down after alleged attack
Israeli occupation forces (IOF) shot and killed a Palestinian man near Damascus Gate in occupied Jerusalem on Thursday evening on the alleges of stabbing an Israeli police officer.
The attacks that began mid-September are showing no signs of relenting.
Meanwhile a Palestinian injured two soldiers by running them down near the Jewish settlement of Ofra, also near Ramallah, an army statement said.
The Israeli military says a Palestinian fired at an Israeli soldier before being shot dead by forces north of Jerusalem.
Reports of the arrests followed Israel’s partial lifting of a gag order on the case, and comes a day after the U.N.’s special coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Nickolay Mladenov, criticized Israel for how long the investigation has taken.
Ali Dawabshe, a toddler, was burned to death, and his mother and father later died of their wounds. In all, four Israelis were hurt.
Hebrew graffiti reading “revenge” was sprayed on the walls of the home, indicating that the attackers were possibly Jewish.
It is unusual for Palestinian security agents to be implicated in such attacks. He said he planned to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a trip to Israel “sometime after Christmas, probably”.
It said troops at the scene opened fire and killed the attacker.
There have been about a dozen stabbings in the city, which have injured Israelis, with the attackers killed or wounded. He did not elaborate or provide a motive for the attack.
Violence has spiraled out of control, claiming the lives of 19 Israelis and one Jewish US citizen in near daily stabbing, shooting and auto ramming incidents.
“A Palestinian rammed his vehicle at IDF (Israel Defense Forces) soldiers”.
On Thursday evening, Israeli troops shot and killed another Palestinian who purportedly tried to stab a policeman in East al-Quds. Palestinians say it stems from a lack of hope of gaining statehood.
Israeli media confirmed that the Israeli police closed the Old City and denied people from getting and out the city. The Palestinian man wearing a yellow “press” vest and a T-shirt identifying him as journalist stabbed and wounded the soldier in the latest in a monthlong spate of attacks. He was arrested days after the attack. The assailant was shot and killed at the scene.
