‘Two Palestinians killed by Israeli troops’

Demolition of the Abu Shahin home this morning follows the demolition of four Palestinian-owned homes over the weekend of Palestinians accused of carrying out attacks on Israelis last month.
“Cases of excessive use of force by Israeli forces against Palestinians, including a few which appear to amount to summary executions, continue to be reported”, said the UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in the Palestinian Territories, Makarim Wibisono, and the expert on summary executions, Christof Heyns.
The army said Palestinians opened fire at the forces who returned fire at the attackers.
According to Palestinian Health Ministry spokesman Mohammed Awawdeh, a 21-year-old and a 28-year-old were killed during an exchange of gunfire between Palestinian militants and Israeli troops at the Qalandia refugee camp. And earlier Friday, a Palestinian died of wounds sustained in clashes the previous day.
“In addition, hundreds of Palestinians attacked the force, hurling fire bombs, IEDs and rocks”. Later, young residents of the camp clashed with Israeli soldiers manning a checkpoint nearby.
