Two weeks before release, Forza Motorsport 6 gets a free demo today
I’ve been unable to track down a listing of what’s actually included in the demo so you’ll have to make do with this description from Turn 10, and this funky launch trailer.
The demo also showcases the game’s working cockpits, damage modelling technology, stunning wet weather and night racing effects.
Of course, just like the full game, the demo of Forza Motorsport 6 runs at a 60fps framerate and a native 1080p full HD resolution on the Xbox One.
Those who give the demo a spin will start out with a quick race featuring the Ford GT cover vehicle.
A unique all-new Ford Focus RS featuring an exterior designed by players of Forza Motorsport for Xbox has been unveiled at a special Microsoft event, ahead of the global 2015 Gamescom event in Cologne.
Those who pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition of the game will be granted five days early access to the racer on September 10.
The Forza Motorsport 6 demo is available to download now, and you can add it to your queue here.
“Two fans will be chosen based on their lap times in the official Forza Fuel Rivals challenge found in the demo – your speed will earn you a place”, Turn 10 Studios announced.
The one-off Focus RS livery was the winning design from a competition for players of the Forza Horizon 2 open-world racing game, organised by global gaming website IGN. These cars will be available to Ultimate Edition and Deluxe Edition owners of the game at no additional cost.
Forza Motorsport 6 launches September 15 for the Xbox One. All other players will be able to purchase this pack separately. When you gain a new XP level, you’ll get a free spin on a Press Your Luck-style board.
I spent two hours playing the final build of Forza 6, and I’m already reasonably confident that I’ll never want or need to play Forza 5 again.
