TY Hilton’s Week 9 status in question due to foot sprain
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y.
Colts coach Chuck Pagano is expected to provide an update on Hilton’s prospects after Friday’s practice.
Hilton has been dealing with a foot sprain suffered in last Monday night’s loss and has yet to practice this week. Colts beat reporter Mike Chappell also reported that Hilton had an MRI on his foot to determine the severity of the injury.
Hilton finished Monday’s game having played 80 of the Colts’ 86 offensive plays, logging a season-low 15 yards on one catch and seven targets. We could see new offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski get the tight ends more involved without Hilton, too, which would give Andrew Luck other reliable receiving threats. Chris Harris, Aqib Talib and T.J. Ward have been shutting down top receivers all year long. It would be practically impossible for Hilton to produce significant offense playing hurt this week.
If Hilton can’t go, it will leave Donte Moncrief, Andre Johnson, Griff Whalen, and Quan Bray as the wideouts.
