U.S. reports 24 strikes against Islamic State in Iraq and Syria
Bombings carried out by the US-led coalition targeting the Islamic State group are likely to have killed hundreds of civilians, an independent monitoring group said.
A Delta Force raid in Syria that killed Islamic State financier Abu Sayyaf in May also has resulted in a well of intelligence about the group’s structure and finances, U.S. officials say.
“Virtually all claims of noncombatant deaths from alleged coalition strikes emerge inside 24 hours – with graphic photographs of reported victims typically extensively disseminated”, the report stated.
The U.S.-led military campaign put the Islamic State group on defense, Killea said, adding, “There is progress”. At least some of them, the U.S. military official said, are believed to have taken leave after their return to Syria.Hassan, along with his deputy, was said to have been captured while leaving a commanders meeting in Azaz.
Airwars said it identified the 57 strikes through reporting from “two or more generally credible sources, often with biographical, photographic or video evidence”.
The group is staffed by journalists and describes itself as a “collaborative, not-for-profit transparency project”. Iraqi, Syrian and Turkish Kurds now fight alongside each other to reclaim Sinjar. Check back soon for further information.
“Only one of twelve coalition partners – Canada – has consistently stated in a timely fashion both where and when it carries out airstrikes”, the report said.
In Raqqa, U.S. coalition bombs pound the group’s positions and target its leaders with increasing regularity. This picture released on July 13 by the Rased News Network, a Facebook page affiliated with Islamic State militants, shows Islamic State militants fire weapons during a battle against Syrian government forces, in Deir el-Zour province, Syria.
The Observatory said the deadliest incident was on May 4, when a U.S.-led airstrike on the northern Islamic State-controlled village of Bir Mahli killed 64 people, including 31 children. A Pentagon spokesman on the time stated that there was no info to point there have been civilians within the village. And the group has expanded to other countries, including Libya, Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula and Afghanistan.
Two movies and a number of other photographs purporting to point out the aftermath of the strikes within the combined Arab and Kurdish village confirmed youngsters allegedly wounded within the airstrikes.
Massoud Barzani also said Sinjar will remain a Kurdish province under the Iraqi federal government.
Different Kurdish teams, together with the PKK, and the Individuals’s Safety Models declare Sinjar as a part of their territory.
