U.S. shooter’s girlfriend returns to United States from Philippines

She was met by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation on arrival in Los Angeles and will be interviewed by Las Vegas police on Wednesday.

Marilou Danley, described by police as suspect Stephen Paddock’s girlfriend who lived with him in a retirement community in Mesquite, Nev., about 80 miles from Las Vegas, returned from the Philippines late Tuesday.

Paddock had significant weight loss, an increasingly slovenly appearance and was obsessed with his girlfriend’s former husband, ABC said. There were no immediate details available about those trips, according to the official.

Aviation websites showed the Philippine Airlines flight that Mangrobang said Danley had taken landed in the United States on Wednesday morning Philippine time, but Tuesday evening in Los Angeles.

FBI agents investigating the Las Vegas mass shooting met Ms Danley when she arrived back in America on Wednesday afternoon (AEST).

Jordan Knights, an Australian nephew of Danley, said he was stunned by the massacre.

One sister said Danley is “a good person” who would’ve stopped Paddock had she been there.

Knights told Australia’s Channel 9 from his home near Brisbane, “It seemed like he just looked after my aunty and that was it”.

It was unclear why Danley needed to be in the wheelchair at LAX, where she was met by agents who hope she can shed light on why Paddock slaughtered 58 people and injured more than 500.
