Uber to deliver flu shots around Tampa Bay Thursday
For one day only, you can use the Uber smartphone app to call for a flu shot. The shots protect you against three or four common viruses this season, and can make your symptoms milder if you do get sick, according to the Centers for Disease Control. Just make sure you get the shot from your doctor or another health care provider in your network.
A representative for Uber told The Huffington Post that the wellness pack includes a water bottle, recyclable tote bag, tissues, hand sanitizer and – best of all – a lollipop.
Uber will deliver flu shots in more than 35 USA cities, including Tampa Bay. Pro Tip: Please select a suitable indoor location prior to UberHEALTH arriving.
Demand for UberHEALTH expected to be high, so your patience is appreciated. The nurse can administer up to 10 flu shots, so your friends can get vaccinated too. Last year, it covered cities like Boston, Washington and NY and has successfully gave 2000 vaccinations.
Cost is $10. Maximum of 1 wellness pack & 10 free flu shots per request.
The shots will be given by nurses from Passport Health, a travel clinic with locations across North America. “With (Dr. Brownstein’s) guidance and expertise, we will be able to identify other ways we can leverage the Uber platform so we can drive to a healthier future”. All consent information and paperwork stays between the recipient and them.
