Ubisoft Confirms For Honor Will Have A Single-Player Campaign
It’s one of the key subjects that we are working on.
While the particulars remain unknown, Ubisoft’s upcoming swordfighting game For Honor does have a single-player campaign, developer Ubisoft Montreal has confirmed.
For Honor was unveiled at E3 2015 as a four-on-four melee battle game in which Knights, Samurais, and Vikings smack the holy hell out of each other with various sorts of vicious-looking blunt and bladed weapons. Multiplayer only games have caused a commotion in the gaming world, especially Ubisoft who recently felt the heat from the gaming community when Rainbow Six Siege was released without a solo campaign despite its inclusion in previous entries. The game seemed largely like a multiplayer third-person hack and slash combat game, with sleek mechanics and great animations.
Thankfully, producer Stephane Cardin revealed in a new video that the solo campaign is indeed there.
Single-player campaigns were once standard in the industry, but a recent trend has seen the feature fall to the wayside. What are your thoughts on a single-player campaign for the game? While few would claim that it was a bad year for single-player games (Rise of the Tomb Raider and Bloodborne were fantastic), there was a definite rise in multiplayer-only games. It will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
