Ubisoft delays The Division expansions to improve ‘core gameplay experience’
“This new schedule will not only enable us to strengthen the core experience before adding new content, but also continuously improve it by allowing for more production time to ensure the quality of future updates as well”, the developer explained. The first DLC pack has been made available recently, but it seems like the other two will be released later than anticipated.
Update 1.4 will focus on improving “the core gameplay experience”, the dev team said in a blog post.
Tom Clancy’s The Division has seen its share of issues, ranging from the glitches to an unsatisfying single-player experience and shallow end-game. That means the Survival expansion that was supposed to be released alongside the 1.4 update will instead come out later this year, while Last Stand, which was originally slated for a late 2016 launch, won’t be out until early next year.
In a post on The Division’s site, Ubisoft says that it’s delaying the Survival and Last Stand add-ons in order to focus entirely on Update 1.4.
It sounds like more effort is being put into the 1.4 patch and is the main reason for the delay.
If the September timeframe really does turn out to be accurate, then fans could expect some news coming from Ubisoft about the expansion in the coming weeks, like pricing details for the ones who do not have the season pass. According to what has been said today, there will be plenty of bug fixes and balancing and more. The update is set to address issues like enemy difficulty, time to kill, loot drops, weapon balancing, solo player experience, the Dark Zone and various quality of life improvements. Ubisoft is listening to community feedback for change too. Rather than continue to release new content, the developers are taking a step back and fixing a few things before getting in any deeper.
