UCF football player shot
A University of Central Florida football player is recovering after being shot outside of an east Orange County bar early Saturday morning.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Williams was shot following an argument. Upon arrival, as a large crowd started to leave the area, deputies were advised that the shooting victim, Williams, had arrived at Florida Hospital East.
Williams showed up at the hospital Saturday with non-life-threatening injuries.
UCF Head Coach George O’Leary has been made aware of the situation and spoke with the mother of the injured freshman over the phone. According to UCFSports.com, Williams posted to Facebook that he was shot twice in the arm. He has also remained active on his Twitter, retweeting tweets that wish him well.
Williams spent last season as a defensive back on the scout team and dressed for one regular season game. “We are lucky nobody got killed”.
