UCLA football loses CB Fabian Moreau to injury, reinstates Ishmael Adams
Adams started every game over the last two seasons for the Bruins, so it will be interesting to see how quickly he re-enters the lineup.
UCLA coach Jim Mora had good news and bad news with regards to updates on the UCLA secondary.
Felony charges will not be filed against UCLA defensive back Ishmael Adams for allegedly stealing a cell phone from an Uber driver, a District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman said Monday.
“We feel, as a program, he missed a quarter of his season and has shown remorse for the actions that he’s taken”, Mora said.
UCLA plays at No. 16 Arizona on Saturday in a Pac-12 South game. He’s apologized profusely to his teammates, his staff and he’s come back with a great attitude.
“So we’re going to move forward that way”.
Top UCLA cornerbacks Ishmael Adams and Fabian Moreau won’t have a chance to play together this season.
“It’s a huge blow, huge blow (to lose Moreau)”, Mora said.
TCU coach Gary Patterson said defensive end Mike Tuaua, arrested Monday on robbery and assault charges, was suspended after the incident, but he defended the player to reporters.
“If things change, we’ll adjust”, Mora said, adding that “he has served quite a significant penalty”.
Moreau, who will have surgery on Tuesday, started the first three games for the Bruins this year and 28 combined over the past three seasons.
Keeton played the entire game against Washington, but his movement was visibly limited the previous week against No. 18 Utah. “That’s part of this game unfortunately and you have to take the mindset that the next guy’s got to step up and perform”. Coming into the season, Moreau, a senior, had 109 career tackles. Moreau will now have a decision to make after the season about whether to turn pro, weighing his rehabilitation from a season-ending injury with his option to return to the Bruins as a fifth-year senior.
