UFC 194 Fighter Bonuses: No Surprise Here, Conor McGregor Leads the Way
Tell me how many fights I’ve had in the past year.
McGregor is a box-office dream for UFC.
McGregor, who cuts a considerable amount of weight to fight at featherweight, has expressed his desire to eventually move up to lightweight.
Conor McGregor ended Jose Aldo’s reign in as quick a fashion as one could imagine. “I say what I do now”, McGregor said.
But when pressed for what his immediate plans were for his new belt, the “Notorious” one wasn’t as welcoming to the immeidate rematch Aldo was calling for. “When you bring in a $10.1 million gate, back-to-back MGM records, the pay-per-views that we’re bringing in here, it’s nothing but good business-times are good”.
McGregor, who was the interim belt holder following the Brazilian’s injury-enforced withdrawal prior to their scheduled July clash, is now the new and undisputed UFC featherweight champion of the world.
McGregor even described the finishing sequence before the fight, predicting Aldo would come in too strong with his right hand to leave himself open to a counter left.
No official announcements have been made regarding McGregor’s next fight, though, which means there’s hope for Aldo to get his wish.
“If you become vocal with it – you are creating that law of attraction and it will become reality”.
“He threw a right on my chest, I expected that”, Aldo told said in a post match interview with Joe Roegan, “and when I attacked him, he hit a good left, and that was it. I think after this fight, we have to go for a rematch”. McGregor anticipated the punch, stepped back, and cracked the advancing Aldo square on the jaw with a left hook.
“I understand why previously they would do that, because other fighters don’t fight as frequently as I do”. “I’m in the gym a lot”. Sometimes I’m happy, sometimes I’m not.
“Nobody can take that left-hand shot”, McGregor said. If I was inactive like previous champions or older champions, I’d understand vacating, but I’ll go up. “The [lightweight] division needs me”.
I am extremely grateful and proud to be in the position I am in. “We’re the best team in the world”.
“Yeah, many times”, McGregor said about envisioning a one-punch knockout.
In Las Vegas, the party never really stops, but it certainly reached a fever pitch on Saturday night and the epicenter was the MGM Grand.
