Unauthorised biography claims David Cameron took part in disturbing initiation
Extracts published Monday, September 21, in the Daily Mail newspaper claim Cameron smoked marijuana with friends – often while listening to 1970s rock group Supertramp.
The biography also makes claims about Cameron’s alleged exploits at university, saying an MP had seen photographic evidence that he put a private part of his body into a dead pig’s head as part of a dining club initiation ritual.
Satirical responses flourished on social media under the hashtags #piggate and #hameron.
Mr Ashcroft writes in the book’s preface: “Long after he [Mr Cameron] became Prime Minister, the impression persisted that he was more interested in holding the office than in using its power to achieve anything in particular”.
“I am not intending to dignify this book by offering any comment”, the prime minister’s official spokeswoman said.
“Perhaps it is a case of mistaken identity”, Ashcroft said in a report by the Daily Mail.
Political journalist Isabel Oakeshott, Lord Ashcroft’s co-author, has defended the pig allegations. “The pig’s head, he claimed, had been resting on the lap of a Piers Gaveston society member while Cameron performed the act.”
Ashcroft’s time with the Conservative party was a source of controversy because he listed Belize as his permanent residence, rather than the United Kingdom, allowing him to effectively dodge income taxes.
Mr Cameron has already confessed to being “desperately embarrassed” about his membership of the hard-drinking Bullingdon Club, and the latest stories of excess are similarly uncomfortable. Suggesting that he deliberately misled the public, Ashcroft also said that Cameroon knew of his tax evasion as early as 2009.
The past Tory donor disclose to have personal “beef” with David Cameron Prime Minister after not presented any major job in the coalition government.
The story is eerily reminiscent of an episode of TV horror series Black Mirror, in which the United Kingdom prime minister must have sex with a pig to ensure the return of a kidnapped princess.
