Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Was Delayed to Get the Ending Right
Many PlayStation lovers were disappointed when Naughty Dog announced the delay for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. The team also seems making something special to the anticipated game that took them lots of time.
“If you look at the concept art, Jak kind of looks weird “anthromorphised” and realistic, and we knew that as a studio we were pushing towards grounded or more realistic games; this stylised realism concept – and Jak didn’t really fit into that direction that we were headed”. Druckmann said that he was actually surprised when North talked about the development of “The Last of Us 2”.
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will arrive exclusively for PlayStation 4 on October 9. Well, I guess this is a little bit of a spoil…
Considering that Uncharted 4 is poised to be Nathan Drake’s last game as the featured lead character, Naughty Dog required more time to make sure that the ending not only met and exceeded fan expectation but Naughty Dog’s vision as well. Something happened that needs a bit quite of work on the game, so the team admitted to reduce their scope and ambition to meet that deadline.
There’s also a Photo Mode that gamers can use to put Drake in the best possible light and the package comes complete with access to the beta for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, which will start on December 4.
Druckmann continued saying, “It was going to disappoint [fans]to push this thing back”. “Nah, I’m not going to say it!” he exclaimed.
Obviously, for the finale of series packed with big moments fans would expect Uncharted 4 to end on a bang, and so does Neil: “Even when I’m describing the ending, it’s a pretty…”
