Uncharted 4 Delay Was to Help Get the Ending Right

In the latest issue of OPM (via GamesRadar), Druckmann revealed that the studio decided to postpone Uncharted 4’s release in order to deliver on the team’s ambitious vision for the game’s ending.
Even when I’m describing the ending, it’s a pretty… I’d prefer Naughty Dog to take its time to ensure a fitting end to Nathan Drake’s story, especially since he’s one of the more memorable video game protagonists of the last decade.
In July, Nolan North answered a fan question during the Metrocon 2015 panel if he had more voice acting projects on his plate for after his work in Uncharted 4, which is set to release in 2016. “And again, we would have had to reduce that scope and reduce that ambition to meet that [original] deadline”. “Nah, I’m not going to say it!” he exclaimed. But the developers really wanted to get this right (and rightly so, given the lofty expectations). To gain access, fans will need to pick up a copy of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and make sure to have an active PlayStation Plus membership.
So, it will still be a good few years before we get a sequel to The Last of Us is released, but from Druckmann’s comments it is certainly being talked about over at Naughty Dog.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is out on March 18th 2016 for PS4.
According to IGN, during an interview with the Official PlayStation Magazine it has been explained by Druckmann that they are putting together the prototype of “The Last of Us 2“, among the numerous other ideas.
