Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection Is A ‘System Seller’, Says Sony
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection has the potential to be one of PS4’s major system-sellers in the United Kingdom this Christmas, Sony has said, telling MCV that it has “strong expectations” for the game’s success.
A Thief’s End on the horizon, developer Naughty Dog have claimed that 80% of PlayStation 4 owners are yet to play an Uncharted game of any kind. It was accepted though that for the game to be of the quality we expect, the delay had to happen.
This collection pristinely remasters Uncharted’s first three games for the Playstation 4 and shows exactly why there’s still so much love for Drake, Sully and their misadventures in a world informed by equal parts Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider.
It seems this has occured because you PlayStation 4 has a feature which learns what games and genres you’re interested in. “We have strong expectations for the success of this title. The other reason is we decided we wanted to do it; especially when we got The Last of Us Remastered done, we thought ‘Oh man, this would be cool if we could go back”. When pressed on whether recent rumours about The Last of Us 2 had any weight or not, he made an interesting observation. “There could potentially be – who knows?”
With graphics upgraded to 1080p and 60 fps, the Uncharted Collection looks wonderful with a painstaking restoration that comes close to matching The Last of Us’ PS4 port earlier this year. They have dropped the price of PS4 bundles for Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, Disney Infinity 3.0, Star Wars Battlefront and National Hockey League 16.
