Underground Electrical Fire Reported at Fayette County, W.Va. Plant
FAYETTE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – An underground electrical fire has been reported at a plant in Fayette County, West Virginia. The silicone manufacturing plant is located in alloy and is formerly known as Elkem Metals. Two people were taken to Charleston Area Medical Center and a third was being treated at a hospital in Montgomery. The 4th man or woman appeared to be brought by heli to actually Cabell Huntington Hospital for the curing of first and 2nd point eradicates in the have to face, nose and chair arms.
Two of the injured workers were taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital. However, these were all thinking and inform once they have been land to the healthcare facility.
Chief Myers with the Boomer Volunteer Fire Department tells 13 News a flash fire ignited when workers hit multiple transformers while jack-hammering.
Tuesday’s accident happened at the Elkem Metals plant in Fayette County. According to deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, a couple of transformers blew. “The people involved were up walking around or sitting in the back of the ambulance when we arrived on the scene”.
