The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased 0.3 percent in June on a seasonally adjusted basis, with advances in the indexes for gasoline, shelter, and food all contributing. The economy added just 600 jobs during the month, according to the initial estimate, which is subject to significant revisions.
Three Capital Region counties ranked in the 10 lowest unemployment rates by county: Saratoga ranked second at 4.1 percent, and Albany and Rensselaer tied for eighth at 4.6 percent. That’s down from 7.7 percent and 3,700 people in April 2014.
