Union with 2 million members endorses Hillary Clinton
“I don’t understand it”, the Florida senator said on ABC’s “This Week”. “This is a war for the soul of Islam”, Sanders said.
Hillary Clinton says Bernie Sanders’ health plan would endanger the accomplishments of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and that it would impose a tax increase that middle class Americans can’t afford.
But the campaigns of two of Clinton’s would-be Republican challengers are taking in far more from Wall Street than her 2016 campaign.
At most of his campaign stops, Sanders talks about making health care a right, not a privilege. “I think it was one of the biggest ones of the night”.
During the debate, Clinton’s logic was questioned by people on Twitter, and she was asked to respond to a tweet that said, “I’ve never seen a candidate invoke 9/11 to justify millions of Wall Street donations until now”.
“The Muslim nations in the region-Saudi Arabia, Iran, Turkey, Jordan-they’re going to have to get their hands dirty, their boots on the ground”.
Mr. Sanders said he’ll be sharpening his contrasts with Mrs. Clinton on the issues, but still promised not to make them personal.
The rally – which drew 1,500 attendees, according to the Clinton campaign – marked Clinton’s second campaign event in Texas since she launched her second presidential bid.
“We can not afford four years of policies that will hurt working families while lining the pockets of big corporations”, said Cherie Mancini, president of Las Vegas’ SEIU Local 1107.
Martin O’Malley, who spoke after Clinton at the barbecue, hit Clinton for remarks at the debate on Saturday that about 9/11 and campaign contributions. During the key exchange, she defended her financial industry fundraising by saying, “I represented NY, and I represented NY on 9/11 when we were attacked”.
“Where were we attacked?” she continued. “We were attacked in downtown Manhattan where Wall Street is”.
“I did spend a whole lot of time and effort helping them rebuild”, continued Clinton, who took office as New York’s junior senator just eight months before the attack on the World Trade Center. “And places like Seattle, like Los Angeles, like NY City, they can go higher”, she added. “It was good for the economy and it was a way to rebuke the terrorists who had attacked our country”, she said.
“Why, over her political career has Wall Street been the major campaign contributor to Hillary Clinton?”. “That is the sort of company, that is the sort economic advice that she would follow”. The former secretary of state remains the front-runner for the Democratic nomination, with 56 percent support to 31 percent for Sanders in a five-day rolling poll by Reuters/IPSOS dated November 13.
