United Kingdom justice secretary launches leadership campaign
Osborne, who argued during the campaign that Britain should stay in the European Union, had estimated that a vote to leave would hurt public finances to the tune of 30 billion pounds.
It has left the country with a power vacuum just as someone needs to step up and own the talks on how Britain will exit the EU. “But I’ll do all I can that a referendum takes place and they have a chance to express their view”. I was so very reluctant because I know my limitations.
United Kingdom Independence Party leader, Nigel Farage, announces he is resigning as party leader during a speech at The Emmanuel Centre in London, Monday July 4, 2016.
Interior Minister Theresa May is now the bookies favourite to become the next prime minister. Gove, the justice minister, emailed a statement declaring that he had come “to the conclusion that Boris can not provide the leadership or build the team for the task ahead”.
“That led me to make the hard decision, at no little cost, to put friendships aside and act in the national interest”.

May has already said she’s not going to call a general election if she is elected leader.
May said she would negotiate the “best possible access for trade in goods and services”.
