United Kingdom police destroy ‘forest of cannabis plants’
An interesting find on Grove ward.
The overgrown plants are in some cases as tall or taller than the police officers standing among them.
“We got a call from one of the security guards down at Thames water that there was some suspicious activity going on”, Sean Carpenter, an inspector for north neighbourhoods of Kingston, told me over the phone.
A “forest” of suspected cannabis plants that looked like Christmas trees has been found in a remote area of England.
“Whoever set this up used a really remote spot”.
Officers secured the scene and are making arrangements for the plants to be removed for disposal.
“Welcome to the leafy suburbs of Kingston!” two local police sergeants also tweeted, according to the Evening Standard.
“All [the cultivators’] time, trouble and gardening skills will go unrewarded, as the whole lot will now be destroyed by police”, said Henderson.
Describing their shock at the scale of the find the accompanying message stated: “Kingston Police called to a few cannabis plants”. We found a forest!’
The discovery in a residential area came after a member of the public said they had seen a small number of the plants.
No arrests had been made and inquires were continuing to find those responsible for cultivating the plants.
Cannabis is classified as a Class B drug in the United Kingdom, which means growing, possessing or distributing the substance is illegal.
