United States senators strike deal to end shutdown
The programme – which shields more than 700,000 immigrants who entered the U.S. illegally as children – is scheduled to end in March, following an order from President Trump previous year. Even 22 percent of those who disapprove strongly of Trump’s job as president say that the crackdown on undocumented immigrants is a good thing.
Late Sunday, Senate Democratic leader Charles Schumer said Democratic and Republican lawmakers had “yet to reach an agreement on a path forward” linking the full reopening of the government to resolution of the deportation issue.

“The progressive movement is unified”, Gupta said, adding that she felt “intensely strongly that Democrats must continue to stand strong now”.
