Universal Pictures announces ‘Jurassic World’ sequel for June 2018
Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow will co-write the new film with Derek Connolly. Steven Spielberg, who, of course, fathered the franchise back in 1993, will return in his new role as producer, as will Frank Marshall.
As for where the sequel will begin, we’re guessing it might be related to those dinosaur embryos that Dr. Wu (BD Wong) took from the island.
Variety is reporting that a sequel to Jurassic World has been greenlit and set for release on June 22, 2018.
Jurassic World also now sits as the third highest-grossing movie of all-time, having recently overtaken The Avengers. Pratt, 36, led the picture as the theme park trainer Owen Grady, starring alongside Howard, Irrfan Khan, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jake Johnson, Judy Greer, and Omar Sy, among others.
After its record-breaking theatrical run this summer, it was pretty much inevitable that “Jurassic World” would get a sequel.
A director has yet to be named for the sequel, though Trevorrow has indicated it won’t be him. “Jurassic World” was released more than a month ago. It has earned .5 billion worldwide to date. The notice requests a block on links to pirated versions of Jurassic World on three websites and http://127.0.0.1:4001/#/fr/ – that’s Universal France’s “localhost”. There’s little doubt the bike that was ridden by Hollywood A-lister Chris Pratt in the film and was customised specifically for him will go on to fetch considerably more.
