Universal Studios Japan releases first Super Nintendo World concept art
Universal Parks & Resorts announced in November 29 that it also will open similar Nintendo-themed attractions at Universal Studios Orlando and Hollywood.
Universal Studios Japan has offered a glimpse at what the first Nintendo theme park attraction will look like.
Further park attractions are in the pipeline for the USA locations of Orlando and Hollywood.
The price of the development is expected to exceed 50 billion yen, or around $433 million, the companies say.
“You will enter an entire realm filled with iconic Nintendo excitement, gameplay, heroes and villains”.
The Wizarding World of Mario finally has a name and due date, Nintendo and Universal Studios have announced.
They have plans on opening up eateries, apparel shops and interactive attractions based on some of their most popular games.
Super Nintendo World Park in Japan would be located at the land of Universal Studios now used as parking space and areas for future expansion.
Super Nintendo World, which is a play on Super Mario World, will feature characters and themes straight from Nintendo’s popular intellectual property. The concept art appears to show Bowser’s Castle and Princess Peach’s Castle from the Mario franchise. But, judging from the success and accuracy of Wizarding World, I’m going to go ahead and guess that Super Nintendo World has an incredibly bright future in store.
Shigeru Miyamoto, creative fellow at Nintendo, and Mark Woodbury, president of Universal Creative, will work closely together to ensure the Nintendo characters and the worlds they inhabit are recreated to a high standard.
The Nintendo and Universal partnership is one way Nintendo has begun to bring more eyes to its IP.
