University of Pittsburgh may rescind Bill Cosby degree
Hill was hired and shortly afterward Cosby began flying her to cities where he was performing and paying for her hotel room.
Court documents unsealed in July show the 78-year-old Cosby admitting extramarital relationships with several women, a few of whom accuse him of sexual assault.
Hill wasn’t mentioned by name in those denials, but they were made after Hill first made her claims against Cosby in November of past year. The lawsuit doesn’t specify how often that happened, but Hill’s attorney, George Kontos, said Thursday it occurred once each in Denver and New York, “several” times in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
More than 50 women have made sexual assault accusations against Cosby. He’s never been criminally charged and has continued to deny those allegations. She said at the time that she felt emboldened to speak out by the dozens of other women who have come forward since past year. Its student paper, the Wilkes Beacon, published a statement from university President Patrick Leahy that read in part: “It has become clear by Mr. Cosby’s own admission in a 2006 legal deposition (Constand v.Cosby) that became public this summer, that he engaged in conduct that is contrary to the values of Wilkes University and the qualities for which he was honored”.
PITTSBURGH (AP) _ A faculty committee that oversees honorary degrees will consider rescinding one the University of Pittsburgh issued to Bill Cosby in 2002.
Goucher College, which is located in Towson, said it chose to revoke an honorary degree it gave to Cosby when he was the school’s commencement speaker in 2001.
Cosby was given that degree in 2000.
On October. 8, Baylor, a Baptist university in Waco, Texas, rescinded the honorary degree it awarded to the entertainer in 2003. In December, amid widening allegations, Cosby resigned from the board of trustees of Temple University in Philadelphia.
