Unplanned Throat Biopsy Chocked Breathing of Joan Rivers
Reason behind the death of the legendary comedian Joan Rivers is still shadowed by darkness. The 81 years old American actress and Television host died on Thursday, September 4, 2014.
The unfortunate death of the legend
The legendary actress suffered from serious complication in breathing while she was undergoing surgery on her vocal cords. This leads to coma and finally to her unfortunate death. The week long battle came to end on September 4, at around 1.17 pm. New details have popped up regarding the death of Joan Rivers. According to the news reported by the New York Daily News, the famous comedian experienced an unplanned throat surgery while she went for a routine endoscopy. The throat surgery ultimately became the reason behind her death.
Unplanned biopsy
The NYDN reported that Joan River arrived to Yorkville Endoscopy in New York City on August 28, 2014, for a procedure to examine why her voice has gotten croaky and husky. The doctors performing endoscopy found ‘something’ on the vocal cord of the Melissa Rivers’ mother. Another doctor with whom Joan Rivers came to the center asked the doctors in Yorkville to permit him to use the instruments to perform unplanned throat biopsy.
Vocal cord contraction, stopped breathing
Joan Rivers agreed to the endoscopy but not the biopsy, so there was a dilemma from both side to perform the operation. The TV personality suffered the vocal cord contraction laryngospasm during the biopsy, which blocked her breathing. A source said if the biopsy had been done a better hospital then this type of risk would not have evoked.
However, Melissa Rivers as well as Yorkville Endoscopy’s representatives did not speak largely on this issue.
Whatever be the cause we have lost a great comedienne whose loss is unforgettable. Hollywood will never forget Joan Rivers and lovers of comedy will remember the name of this great woman who had offered memorable performances to enrich comedy to the fullest.
