Offensively, Gus Malzahn will likely have quarterback competition going into the 2016 season.

Memphis had halted a three-game losing streak after briefly climbing into the playoff conversation with a 63-0 romp over SMU in the regular-season finale when Lynch fired seven first-half touchdown passes. It was also the lowest total yards the Tigers had allowed to an opponent all year.

Jovon Robinson powers into the end zone for Auburn’s final touchdown. Robinson had 121 of those yards on 25 carries.

The reports of the SEC’s demise are greatly exaggerated, and it was pure smash-mouth SEC football by Auburn that beat the Memphis Tigers today.

Lynch struggled for a majority of the day against a tough Auburn defense that was playing under an interim defensive coordinator, as Will Muschamp had left to become the new head coach at SC.
