Up to five inches of snow expected Monday, continuing through Wednesday

The advisory – in effect from 7 tonight to 7 a.m. Wednesday – covers Allegheny, Washington, Westmoreland, Fayette and Greene counties. A pattern change that is taking place across the East will allow for another chance of snow early this week, as an area of low pressure may develop off the coast behind Winter Storm Mars. Plows should be able to keep up with it, due to the gradual nature of these snow showers.
