Upcoming Moto Z Play Design and Specifications Leaked
This new camera Moto Mod is expected to add some real photography muscle to the Moto Z. TechDroider managed to get their hands on some drawings that show just how the new camera Mod will function.
After rolling out two new smartphones Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droid, Motorola Mobility might have one new Moto Z to join the family. This will be a first for any Moto phone ever much like the metal rear of the standard Z was.
When the device crossed TENAA it was wearing the XT1635 model number. Design wise, the new phone looks like it will follow in the footsteps of the other phones in the series. In addition, the same large camera hump and magnet set on the back of the Z family also appears to be a part of the Z Play, hinting at full support for Moto Mods.
These specs mark the Moto Z Play as an assured mid-range handset, which gels with last year’s Moto X Play release. The front is seen featuring a home button and possibly embeds the fingerprint scanner in the home button. The screen size is rumored to be at 5.5 inch but it will not have the Quad HD resolution.
Software wise, the second picture on the left seems to depict that the Moto Z Play will run Android Marshmallow, and it looks like version 6.0.1 will ship with the device. Unlike the Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droid that are already available in the USA (exclusively on Verizon Wireless), the Moto Z Play isn’t a high-end phone. The handset should further feature an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB or 64 GB of expandable storage space, and a battery of at least 3300 mAh. We expect more details on the phone to come during IFA 2016.
