Update On The Rock’s Status For WrestleMania 32
Austin himself has been the source of rumors that he could take on Lesnar on April 3, when WWE looks to set an attendance record at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Keep in mind, Lesnar will be a guest on Austin’s podcast on the WWE Network next month, so if any seeds are going to be planted for a potential feud at WrestleMania, they will be planted a bit on that show if anything. “Bulls*** reporting”, Austin said in his post. Their first singles match against each other was on September 2002 in Unforgiven, which ended in a double disqualification that culminated inside Hell in a Cell at the No Mercy pay-per-view the next month. Not so fast.
– It was noted on Wrestling Observer Live this week that WWE Spanish announcer Marcelo Rodriguez actually mentioned Sting’s TNA run during the WrestleMania 31 commentary for his match with Triple H.
So where does that leave Lesnar?
When Brock won the WWE Undisputed Title against The Rock in SummerSlam 2002, he went on to feud with The Undertaker, who was still on his “American Bad Ass/Big Evil” gimmick for the championship. Of course, that wouldn’t be the big, headlining match Vince McMahon is surely hoping for. In Wrestle Zone’s report last June, Austin made it clear that there won’t be a match between him and Lesnar at the upcoming event.
