Urban Meyer uncertain about quarterback situation moving forward

Sometimes a great defense just isn’t enough. That is especially the case with the Buckeyes’ QB position. What’s even more unbelievable is that Northern Illinois hung with the Buckeyes for so despite such an terrible game from their normally stellar and efficient quarterback Drew Hare.

Meyer, an offensive coach, was asked whether he was satisfied winning games with defense.

“I got the look I wanted outside”, Hare said. We will learn from this.

Carey has been really aggressive in the past (going for surprise onside kicks, fakes, ect.) but today he played it on the safe side.

“We have to play better”, Meyer said. “At the end, we missed too many opportunities”. We’re going to do what we have to do to win football games.

Defense: Seven players from the defense earned game honors; all the guys on the edge and in the secondary. Still, Ash said he has his defense prepared to play at its current level regardless of what happens while the offense takes the field. Shawun (Lurry) is always around the ball and he made the plays. “We expect much, much higher execution on offense”.

“We’re playing defense on offense right now, and it’s not working”.

Urban Meyer knows who the starting quarterback will be this week for Ohio State against Western Michigan, though the Buckeyes coach isn’t ready to reveal it yet. Ohio State won 20-13. NIU held the ball for 32:26 compared to OSU’s 27:34.

Following a lackluster performance against the Nothern Illinois Huskies, the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes had some tough questions to answer. That came after the Buckeyes’ longest drive – 73 yards on 11 plays.

The Huskies had a chance to tie when linebacker Bobby Jones recovered a fumble by running back Curtis Samuel at the Northern Illinois 29 with 4:05 remaining, but the Huskies could not get a first down and punted. Elliott finished the game with 108 yards on 23 carries.

Whether it has been miscommunication or just poor play, it isn’t a coincidence that Ohio State’s offense had a hard time scoring against Hawaii and Northern Illinois with the big guys up front unable to control the line of scrimmage.

Because of that, the 20-10 cushion that Lee’s score gave them became threatened.
